final fantasy VII 英文人物介绍
Cloud Strife (クラウド・ストライフ Kuraudo Sutoraifu): Protagonist. A self-proclaimed Ex-SOLDIER turned mercenary employed by AVALANCHE, and the main character of the game. Cloud is portrayed as a confused and conflicted individual with an occasionally arrogant attitude. He wears a blue SOLDIER uniform and is distinguished by his blue eyes that periodically glow green (a sign of having been exposed to Mako) and spiked blonde hair (for which he is often made fun of by his peers). He wields a giant buster sword in combat.
Aerith Gainsborough (エアリス・ゲインズブール Earisu Geinsubūru) (aka Aeris Gainsborough): A young woman who sells flowers on the streets of Midgar and is sought after by Shin-Ra's research department. She asks Cloud to be her bodyguard after a run-in with the Turks, and subsequently joins AVALANCHE. She has long brown hair she keeps in a braid with pink bows, vivid green eyes, and wears a red mini-jacket and a pink dress. Aerith is also a well-known martyr, sacrificing herself as the only Ancient left, and the only one alive who had the power to stop Meteor from destroying the Planet. Throughout the game, Aerith brings Cloud out of his shell and opens up his heart, teaching him to be more caring.
Tifa Lockhart (ティファ・ロックハート Tifa Rokkuhāto), or Tifa Lockheart: A childhood acquaintance of Cloud and a skilled martial artist in her own right. One of the main members of AVALANCHE, it is Tifa who convinces Cloud to work for the group. She has long black hair tied back in a loose pony-tail and brown eyes. Tifa helps Cloud unravel the secrets of his past and stands by him throughout the game.
Barret Wallace (バレット・ウォーレス Baretto Wōresu): The leader of AVALANCHE, a powerfully built man with a deep-seated hatred of everything Shin-Ra. Barret mistrusts Cloud at first because of the mercenary's past affiliation with the corporation. He lost his right forearm during an encounter with Shin-Ra years ago and had it replaced with a powerful gun.
Red XIII a.k.a. Nanaki (レッドXIII Reddo Jyūsan): Strong, fierce, and coated with fire-red fur, Red XIII is a large and powerful beast, with a strong intellect and warm heart to match. Red XIII joins with Cloud after being rescued from a horrible Shin-Ra experiment. Red XIII is the name given to him by Hojo, the head of Shin-Ra's Science Department, but his real name is Nanaki (ナナキ). Hojo claims that he is part of an endangered species much like Aerith is. (After the credits at the end of the game, Red XIII is seen running with two lionlike creatures that appear to be of his species and are widely speculated to be his children.) Nanaki returns to his home in Cosmo Canyon where we discover information about his origins. While 42 actual years in age, his grandfather explains how Red XIII's race has great longevity and that this longevity makes Red XIII more like an early teen in human terms. He also learns that his father, whom he had hated for supposedly fleeing a battle in Cosmo Canyon, had actually sacrificed himself to defend the canyon, resulting in his petrification by arrows. Both of this character's names are likely references to Star Wars; Nanaki is an anagram of Anakin, and Red 13 is a Rebel callsign. See also Biggs and Wedge.
Cid Highwind (シド・ハイウィンド Shido Haiwindo): A rather crotchety and foul-mouthed, but nonetheless warm-hearted character, Cid is a pilot who secretly dreams of travelling into space. He lives with Shera (Sierra), an assistant who forced Cid to abort his past chance at launching his rocket into space, saving Cid's life by checking oxygen tanks she correctly feared were faulty during the lift-off sequence. Cid may have created the airship Highwind and also owns the Tiny Bronco, a small plane which Cloud and the others use as a boat in the game after it is downed by Shin-Ra. Cid wields a powerful polearm in battle.
Yuffie Kisaragi (ユフィ・キサラギ Yufi Kisaragi): The spunky young princess of Wutai and Godo's daughter. A self-proclaimed "Materia Hunter", Yuffie is in fact a pickpocket and thief who joins the party hoping to steal Materia with the intention of restoring her country, Wutai, to its former glory. Although Yuffie is a skillful ninja, she has her weaknesses - namely, she is prone to sea and air sickness.
Cait Sith (ケット・シー Ketto Shī): Appearing as a stuffed, talking cat, Cait Sith is friendly but often untrustworthy and unreliable. He rides on the back of a stuffed "Mog", a magical creature that does all of the pair's fighting. He is eventually revealed to be a "puppet" that Reeve Tuesti, Shin-Ra's Head of Urban Development, used to infiltrate AVALANCHE. However, over time, Reeve came to care for his new friends and their cause and used Cait Sith as a way for him to help the gang in spirit. Cait Sith sacrifices himself at one point in the game to aid the group, but a "Cait Sith II" immediately shows up to replace him.
Vincent Valentine (ヴィンセント・ヴァレンタイン Vinsento Varentain): A dark, brooding, and sardonic young man whose heart has been numbed by a tragic love. Vincent is a former Turk gunman who was experimented on by Hojo approximately thirty years before the start of the game and consequently developed superhuman abilities and characteristics. Cloud and the others eventually discover him sleeping inside a coffin in the basement of the Shin-Ra Mansion, where he agrees to help them in their quest.
Sephiroth (セフィロス Sefirosu): The game's primary antagonist. Said to be the greatest member of SOLDIER ever, Sephiroth rose to a prominent rank at an early age. Mysterious and dangerous, with an agenda all his own. Driven mad by the discovery of his true heritage (or so he thinks), he plans to become god-like by wounding the planet with Meteor and absorbing the Lifestream emitted by the Planet to heal the damage. He is always a step ahead of Cloud and his friends. Sephiroth was the son of Hojo and Lucrecia, infused with Jenova cells before birth to give him his superhuman strength and intelligence. Sephiroth's actions, appearance, and the theme song ("One-Winged Angel") hint at his symbolism as a "fallen angel". He also has, instead of his right arm, a dark colored wing in the form of Safer Sephiroth, and it is 'One-winged angel' that plays during the heroes' battle with this form.
