1. Around the world more and more people are taking part in dangerous sports activities. Of course,there have always been people who have looked for adventure those who have climbed unknown parts of the world or sailed in small boats across the greatest oceans. Now,however, there are people who seek an immediate thrill, a risky activity, which may only last a few minutes or even seconds.
Bungee jumping is a good example of such an activity.You jump from a high place 200 meters above the ground with an elastic rope tied to your feet. You fall at up to 150 kilometers an hour until the rope stops you from hitting the ground. It is estimated that two million people around the world have now tried bungee jumping.
Why do people take part in such activities as these?Some psychologists suggest that it is because life in modern societies has become safe and boring. In ancient times,people's lives were constantly under threat. They had to go out and hunt for food. Diseases could not easily be cured, and there was a continuous battle for survival.
Nowadays, according to many people, life offers little excitement. They live and work in comparatively safe environments;they buy food in shops;there are doctors and hospitals to look after them if they become iii. 3 Books are my best friends
When I was a child, I enjoyed reading books that were without words. The pictures and the color affected me. When I was a pupil, I liked reading books about science. The knowledge and the magic things attracted me. When I was a student, I preferred to read novels. They were full of action and exciting. The plots were interesting.
Now I still love books. They make my life become more and more wonderful. Different kinds of books bring me different feelings. They are my best friends. I can get knowledge from books. I can read books whenever and wherever I want.
For the time being, I enjoy reading comics best. Because studying is hard and tiring, I feel relaxed when I am reading comics. They make me happy and bring me great joy. Books are good for me. They will string along with me forever……
4 I Still Remember That Halloween

Days and days past, I’m not a child any longer. But I still remember that Halloween, 31st October 2001. That was Saturday. I went to study English with an American girl named Debby as usual.
We had 5 students altogether. Before that week, Debby had already told us to learn something about Halloween ourselves. On that day, Debby spent an hour describing this American festival for us, such as “trick or cheat”, pumpkin and even, she took a pumpkin with her. First she took out a finished pumpkin lantern.
That was really beautiful and ugly, we liked it so much. Then she taught us how to make a pumpkin lantern by ourselves. We each held a small knife, learnt to cut and draw something on that pumpkin. Finally, we made it and put a short candle into it. That was truly happy. And the most surprising thing was that the lantern was a present for that day’s super student. Who will that be? My god! That was me!

Do you know how excited I was then? I held it, jumping and shouting. That was the most unforgettable day to me. And I will not forget it, never!
5.Lets Honor Farmers
There are a lot of annual public holidays in China, such as Labor's Day, Children's Day and National Day. But I think we should celebrate another holiday -- Farmer's Day.
Why should there be Farmer's Day?
First of all, China is a large agfieukural country. The majority of the population is farmers. Farmers play a vital role in China. They provide food, without which we cannot live. Also, farmers support industry with various kinds of raw materials.
Most farmers work hard from dawn to dusk, with little time to rest or entertain themselves.
Some people look down upon farmers because they think they do not do "mental labor."
I suggest there should be a Farmer's Day to show respect for the 800 million farmers in China. This would help people realize the contri butions farmers make to society and would raise their social status.

Though today is not Thanksgiving Day, I still want to tell you I love you and thank you for what you've done for me.
I know you are not successful people, but you give me lots of love. I know you love me more than anything else in the world. I know you spend lots of time and money on me. I live with my father and mother in a very big house in Dongguan. My parents are both very busy. they leave for work very early in the morning and don’t return home until late in the evening.
When I am home on weekends from school, we spend a lot of time together. We talk about my studies, my health and my school life. I love my parents very much.
My grandparents are still living, but they don’t live with us. their health is good and they both do sports very early in the morning. My grandmother does gymnastics with elderly women her age in the park. Both of my grandfathers play basketball in the morning and sometimes they go swimming.Chinese people eat rice for every meal, but I don’t like rice because I think it is tasteless!
